Objective of the course: The main objective of this course is to offer students the basics of kinematics and the kinetics of particles-rigid bodies and provide the background necessary for advanced courses related to Dynamics offered in the Mechanical Engineering Department.

 

Course Contents:

  • Kinematics of Particles: Rectilinear Motion, Curvilinear Motion, Relative Motion

  • Kinetics of Particles: Force-Mass-Acceleration, Work and Energy, Impulse and Momentum

  • Plane Kinematics of Rigid Bodies: Rotation, Absolute Motion, Relative Motion, Velocity Pole, Relative Acceleration, Relative Motion

  • Plane Kinetics of Rigid Bodies: Force-Mass-Acceleration, Work and Energy, Impulse and Momentum
