Credit Structure: (2-2)3 Catalog Description : Physical fundamentals of pneumatics and hydraulics, pneumatic and hydraulic symbols, design of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, logic AND/OR functions for start signals, fault diagnosis in simple pneumatic and hydraulic controls, fault diagnosis in simple pneumatic and hydraulic controls, direct and indirect position-dependent control. Course Objectives : This course will be an overview of the pneumatic and electropneumatic applications of automation technology. The students will have the opportunity to set up the real pneumatic and electropneumatic systems on experimental sets. 2.Representations of motion sequence and operation status, direct and indirect stroke-dependent controls, logic AND/OR functions for start signals, time dependent controls with time delay valve (3 weeks)
3.Pressure dependent controls with pressure sequence valve, fault diagnosis in simple pneumatic and hydraulic controls, physical fundamentals of electropneumatics and electrohydraulics, function and application of the electropneumatic and electrohydraulic components (2 weeks) 4.Designation and drawing of electropneumatic and electrohydraulic symbols, drawing up electropneumatic and electrical circuit diagrams to the standard, representation of motion sequences and switching states, direct and indirect manual control (2 weeks) 5.Direct and indirect position-dependent control, Logic AND/OR functions, pressure-dependent control with pressure switches, error diagnostics in simple electropneumatic control systems (2 weeks) Homeworks, Quizzes, Projects: 2 quizzes Computer Usage: None Laboratory Work: Pneumatic Systems at Mechatronics Lab.
