Credit Structure: (3+0) 3 Description : Introduction to renewable energies. Principles of renewable energies. Basic laws of heat transfer and fluid mechanics. Uses of renewable energies: solar, wind, geothermal, bio, tidal, wave, etc. Storage of energy and its distribution. Course Objectives : The aim of this course is to analyse the full range of renewable energy resources. Subjects will include power from wind, water, biomass, sun and other sources. The principles of renewable energy will be understood and applied. The concept of efficiency in terms of minimizing losses and maximising economic and social benefits will also be emphasised.
