Geothermal Energy Research and Application Center (JEOMER) was established in May 2005 within the scope of a project called “Geothermal Energy Research-Application, Testing and Education Center” supported by SPO. Its aims are; conducting research on geothermal energy, organizing interdisciplinary works and promoting them, organizing scientific conferences and seminars, communicating with similar national and international centers, helping to develop educational courses and programs for postgraduates, carrying out common works with public and private sector, and informing central laboratories to be used for these works.
IZTECH JEOMER has the strongest infrastructure in terms of geothermal energy in Turkey and is the only university which has a geothermal area in its campus.
IZTECH JEOMER gives measurement, analysis, project, and consulting services to all energy sectors with its laboratories and portable devices. At the Center, there are devices which can measure physical and chemical properties of geothermal fluid, temperature and pressure gauges in drilling wells and heat conduction coefficient of the rocks. | |
